Relating to the prevention of avian deaths at wind energy facilities; prescribing an effective date.

Abstract

Directs State Department of Energy to conduct study to identify techniques to increase visibility to birds of rotor blades on wind energy facilities and evaluate suitability of techniques for use in Oregon. Directs department to provide results to interim committees of Legislative Assembly no later than September 15, 2022.] Directs Oregon State University, in consultation with State Department of Energy, to conduct study related to practical techniques for painting wind energy facilities that are scientifically shown to increase visibility of facilities to birds and prevent avian deaths. Sunsets January 2, 2023] 2026. Takes effect on 91st day following adjournment sine die.
